How can we help? πŸ‘‹

Working with images

All you need to know about adding and editing images

Images can be added anywhere inside the risk review, either by dragging them directly into the section you are working on, or using the insert image button.

Image upload

During upload, a progress bar will appear at the top of the image, followed by a green check mark in the top right corner confirming the upload was successful. Do not navigate away or unlock the item before you see the green check mark, otherwise your upload will fail.

Positioning multiple images

Tables can be used to display multiple images in an ordered layout. Simply add a table with the rows and columns needed for your layout and add images to the table cells. For a cleaner look you can then set the table border colour to white.

Image formatting and compression

Images uploaded to LiveDiligence are automatically formatted and compressed the moment they are uploaded. The following process takes place:

  • Images are resized to a maximum width of 1440 pixels and a maximum height of 900 pixels, whichever is greater. We always preserve the aspect ratio of the original image.
  • All images are converted to JPEG format.
  • Images are compressed. The resulting images are typically between 5% and 25% of their original size depending on the format, size, and visual complexity of the source image.
Β

Maximum images size

The maximum image size accepted for upload to LiveDiligence is 20MB. Trying to upload an image larger than this will result in a failed upload.

Β

Images and report export size

If you decide to export your diligence review using our pdf export function, be aware that reports containing lots of images can get large.

If you have a lot of images that are causing large pdf exports, we recommend reducing the dimension of the original images before uploading. Reducing image width and height below 1440 pixels and 900 pixels respectively will result in smaller pdf exports. We do not recommend compressing images before upload as pre-compressed images can interfere with the LiveDiligence automatic compression and may result in larger files sizes.

Β

Images with transparency

All images uploaded are converted to JPEG, which allows for efficient compression and avoidance of large pdf exports. However, the JPEG file format does not support transparency layers. Since LiveDiligence uses a white canvas, you can achieve the same effect by converting any transparent layers to white before uploading.
