Pasting from Excel

LiveDiligence supports basic pasting from Excel in the form of plain text. This means that a selected area of cells copied from Excel and pasted into LiveDiligence will appear as an un-styled table (continue reading for a workaround). Note that styling such as cell colour and text colour can be added after pasting using the LiveDiligence editor functionality (see Working with tables)

If you have an Excel sheet with lots of custom styling that you wish to keep, then there is a workaround using Word:

  • Copy the cells you need from Excel;
  • Paste the copied cells into a Word document;
  • Copy the resulting table generated in Word;
  • Paste into LiveDiligence.

Pasting from PowerPoint

LiveDiligence supports copy and pasting of powerpoint content. There are three main modes of copy and pasting PowerPoint content:

  1. Copy/paste text
    1. Notion image

  1. Copy/paste individual elements
    1. Notion image

  1. Copy/paste entire slide
    1. Notion image

Note that for options 2 and 3 the content is pasted as an image, which can be resized as required.

Plain text paste

Both Windows and MacOS provide keyboard shortcuts for pasting copied content as plain text.

  • Windows: Ctrl+Shift+V (or right click → paste at text)
  • MacOS: Cmd+Shift+V

This can be helpful if you are seeing undesirable styling after pasting. After the plain text paste you can then use the LiveDiligence editor to re-apply any styling required.
